The best argument for a floor is where it already runs. Over two decades, BON flocked flooring has gone into airports, bank headquarters, government buildings, universities, aged-care homes, hotels and national retail rollouts — across China, Korea, Japan, the Maldives, Australia, the Philippines, India and the US. Here is where flocked flooring earns its place, sector by sector, and the thread that runs through most of these jobs.

Aviation: floors that never stop working

Few floors work as hard as a terminal floor — continuous footfall, wheeled luggage, round-the-clock cleaning. We produced custom wave-motif flocked flooring for the lounges and waiting areas at Velana International Airport in the Maldives, and supplied the passenger boarding bridges at a major South Korean airport, where rolling-luggage traffic is relentless. The dense nylon 6.6 flock takes that punishment without tracking, stays quiet underfoot, and can carry a bespoke wayfinding pattern.

Retail & telecom: branding the floor at scale

In retail the floor is brand real estate. We developed a bespoke geometric design with a customer and printed it onto flocked tile for a Japanese telecom carrier’s retail network — 100,000 square metres of one coordinated floor, store after store. In the US, our dark flocked tile runs the aisles of a big-box home-improvement retailer, taking constant trolley and foot traffic and still cleaning up. The same digital-print line that makes the stock ranges can put any brand pattern into the floor, rolled out identically across hundreds of locations.

Banking, corporate & government: specified, not just sold

Premium, quiet and durable is exactly what a bank HQ or a government building wants — and these are spec-driven buildings, where one reference sells the next. Our flocked flooring runs a 9,000 m² bank headquarters, corporate offices including a landmark Shanghai tower, and a string of public buildings — a party school, a city citizen-service centre, a tax bureau, a district court. The pull is consistent: low-formaldehyde and hard-wearing, with the acoustic calm a hard floor can’t give.

Education & healthcare: tough where it counts

A university safety-research institute took 4,000 m²; schools and campuses across China and Korea took flocked floors that stay colour-fast and quiet through a generation of students. In aged care — homes in China (4,000 m²) and Australia — the brief is stricter: washable, anti-microbial, slip-resistant and warm underfoot. Flocked flooring is one of the few textile-feeling surfaces that meets all four, which is why it keeps getting specified for healthcare interiors.

Hospitality & leisure

A resort hotel on Jeju Island, exhibition hotels, an amusement park — hospitality wants warm, washable floors that can also carry a signature design in a lobby or feature space. Custom digital print turns the floor itself into part of the interior scheme, at a fraction of a custom-range premium.

The thread: local partners, factory-direct supply

Two patterns run through almost all of this work. First, most jobs are won and installed by a local distributor or contractor who sources the floor factory-direct from us — that is how a Chinese factory ends up under floors in Seoul, Tokyo, Melbourne and Manila. Second, most begin as a written specification for a flocked floor: the architect specifies the construction, and the distributor sources it. Because we manufacture the floor ourselves, we can supply against that specification directly — with the grades, documentation and custom print the project needs.
