How to Source Flocked Flooring Factory-Direct

Flocked flooring is a small, specialised corner of the commercial flooring trade — which means sourcing it is less straightforward than sourcing carpet tile or LVT. There are relatively few manufacturers, quality varies more than the photographs suggest, and most buyers meet the product through a project rather than a supplier list. This guide covers how the category is actually sourced, what moves the price, and how to vet whoever ends up quoting you.

Where flocked flooring comes from

Electrostatic flocking is a specialised production process: nylon 6.6 fibres are stood upright in a high-voltage field and bonded to an impervious backing, then finished and — where required — digitally printed. It needs a dedicated line, which is why the category has far fewer producers than tufted carpet. Between the factory and a project there is usually a chain: a brand, an importer, a regional distributor, sometimes a contractor. Each layer is doing real work, and each adds margin. Whether that chain makes sense for you depends on what you are buying and at what scale.

What buying from the manufacturer changes

Sourcing straight from the producer changes three things in your favour:

• Cost structure — you buy from the line rather than through a distribution chain, so the layers of margin between the factory and your project come out.
• Design freedom — the factory’s digital-print line will produce any design, colour, logo or wayfinding scheme with no tooling cost. A fixed catalogue cannot.
• Ownership — you can buy under your own label (OEM / private label) and sell it as your own line, which reselling someone else’s brand never allows.

How pricing is quoted

We do not publish a price per square metre, and we would be misleading you if we did. The number depends on quantity, format, stock range versus custom print, the performance grades your tender requires, and your delivery terms. A 1,200 m² boutique fit-out in custom print and a 40,000 m² stock-range rollout are different products commercially, even when the floor is identical.

So the process is simple: send the area in m², the format (tile or roll), and the design — a stock series or your own artwork — plus the market it ships to. We come back with an exact FOB, CIF or DDP price and a lead time. MOQ is from 1,000 m²; custom print runs around 4–8 weeks.

Distributors and contractors sourcing this category usually want two things a project buyer does not: a product their competitors are not already quoting, and the option to own the brand.
