Healthcare floors carry requirements that rule most textiles out: they have to be cleanable to an infection-control standard, slip-resistant when wet, low-emission for indoor air, and still comfortable and quiet for patients and residents who spend their day on them. Flocked flooring is one of the few textile-feeling surfaces that can meet that brief, which is why it is specified for clinics, aged-care homes and waiting areas.
The reason is the construction. The nylon 6.6 flock sits on a sealed, impervious backing, so it can be wet-cleaned, extracted or steam-cleaned without water reaching the subfloor — and steam cleaning is an effective deep clean for the surface. On top of that, BON can supply an optional anti-microbial treatment and a low-formaldehyde grade, with the slip-resistant surface these environments demand.

Steam-cleanable and washable
